Minimum Qualifications:A Bachelors Degree (BA/BS) in Computer Science, or equivalent experience, plus at least four (4) years of related experience is required.Skills Needed:Knowledge of network storage architectures (SAN, NAS) and operating systems. Advanced knowledge of Network Appliance filers, operating systems, and software used in enterprise environments. Previous experience implementing and using basic snapshot utilities, as well as Snap Vault, Snap Mirror, Snap Clone. Experience with tiered data storage techniques. Expertise with tape backup software that integrates tightly with Network Appliance (NetBackup, ComVault, etc.). Unix and Windows expertise is required. Working knowledge of aggregate volumes and experience managing large volumes. Knowledge of backup and mass storage technologies, and automated scripting techniques. Four plus years experience managing and securing medium to large storage environments (60-150 TB) is required. Experience implementing and maintaining multi site storage and DR environments. Good project management and execution skills Expertise supporting database environments on iSCSI and NFS volumes. Experience with disk to disk backup technologies and techniques. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to develop and present plans and designs to senior level management. Competence with business presentation tools (MS Office, Visio, and Project) is required.Duties Specific to the Position:Oversee the design, installation, configuration, security, and use of company storage resources, including hardware (tape, disk, etc.), physical interfaces, and storage virtualization. Manage and administer network storage operating systems and their corresponding or associated software. Perform day-to-day strategic activities on Network Storage systems. Analyze, track, and publish capacity utilization statistics to proactively provision storage resources and to propose budgetary and growth recommendations. Develop short- and long-term plans based on historical data and to properly scale storage systems. Propose changes to the Change Review Board and execute required changes and approved plans. Conduct research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards. Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures and associated training plans for administration and appropriate use. Recommend, schedule, and perform software and hardware improvements, upgrades, and/or purchases.
