LOCATION: FALLS CHURCH, VA 22040 Synopsis of the Program Raytheon is looking for a Systems Administrator to join the Systems Integration team providing integration support for a high-tech state-of-the-art video processing and dissemination system providing surveillance to our troops fighting the Global War on Terrorism. PSDS2 (Persistent Surveillance Dissemination System of Systems) is saving lives every day. Consisting of a network of servers, sensors, and software applications, PSDS2 provides video capture, geospatial awareness, forensics, and video storage. Designed, developed, and deployed in 110 days, PSDS2 is used to protect the war fighter, and has been providing tangible benefits from its first day of operation. Job Description: Primary duties will include development and support of a Windows Media Server group supporting the broadcast of multi-bit rate video streams across a strategic and tactical LAN / WAN infrastructure. The individual shall troubleshoot, and upgrade systems hardware and software to ensure total operational and functional compatibility with interfacing/interacting systems, subsystems, equipment, and computer applications. These systems include Windows-based Active Directory Domains, Microsoft Windows Media server and encoder video streaming applications. The systems administrator must have a firm working knowledge of VMware, W2K3, and SAN/iSAN technologies, and an understanding of enterprise integration of systems. Must be able to learn quickly, think creatively, be a team player, and have good communication (writing and oral) skills. The individual will be working within a time critical environment as the subject matter expert within the given domain as well as supporting the team in a variety of tasks as required. Required Skills: - At least 4-5 years directly related work experience - Expert knowledge of W2K3 and XP - Advanced knowledge of enterprise-level group policies - Advanced knowledge of DoD directed systems security - Advanced technical troubleshooting experience - Ability to research COTS HW solutions to complex problems and interface with various vendors in to assist in the development of those solutions. - Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or other technical degree or directly related experience required. Note: 2 years directly related experience required for each academic year short of educational requirement - Must be able to obtain an interim DoD Secret Clearance or higher or have had an active clearance in the past 24 months. - Candidate must be willing to deploy and work with U.S. Military Forces in Afghanistan or Iraq for 6-8 weeks as part of a surge team Desired Skills: - Expert in Microsoft Systems to include Domain Management, Windows Media Services and encoder -MCSE 2000/2003 Certified - Knowledge of IBM hardware and peripherals, and Storage Area Networks (SAN/NAS/iSAN) - CCNA /CCNP a plus. - Willingness to deploy and work with U.S. Military Forces in Afghanistan or Iraq as part of a surge team for up to 3 months.
