Staff Scientist - Technical Lead Software

_ ITT Aerospace/ Communications Division (A/CD)Our Thousand Oaks, CA Global Navigation Satellite Systems organization is focused on producing high precision, high accuracy military and civilian GPS receivers for the Control and User Equipment segments.The Staff Scientist - Software Technical Lead will provide technical leadership in the definition and development of GPS products. Responsibilities include all phases of the software lifecycle including software requirements definition, software design and coding, and software test and verification. Equivalent Education Level Required: MS in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.Experience Required: Twelve years or more with primary emphasis on technical capability on systems skills and pertinent technology, as well as at least 10 years of experience in real time embedded software engineering field. Must have experience architecting embedded SW systems, working with systems engineering to define interfaces and processor specifications. Must have experience with GPS algorithms and their implementation in software.Knowledge Required: Understanding of hardware/ software interaction and integration. Strong debugging and analysis skills desired. Knowledge of embedded real time software development using object oriented design and analysis. Understanding of techniques used to implement C++ code into embedded systems.
