Structural Engineering Specialist

Perform complex engineering work assignments involving vibration, stress, and dynamic analysis and testing of gas turbine engines, components, and subsystems.  Plan, coordinate, and conduct analytical and experimental work and engine testing using available resources efficiently.  Reduce test and experimental data in a form that can be used to correlate with analytical predictions.  Prepare and present written procedures and reports in a timely manner.  Support tests in-house and on site as required.  Represent the Dynamics department in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects.  Implement new analytical and experimental methods or test techniques that can be used to improve data accuracy and/or enhance the department’s capability.

BS degree in engineering required (MS / PhD preferred).  Ability to communicate technical information (oral and written) in English required.  Must be a self-starter and able to work independently with minimal supervision.  A working knowledge of the analytical and experimental techniques, instrumentation, and equipment used for conducting vibration, stress, and dynamic analysis and testing of gas turbine engines, components, and subsystems desired.  Must be able to organize and plan, and coordinate several jobs simultaneously.
