Raytheon Polar Services is the primary contractor for the National Science Foundation’s (NSF) U.S. Antarctic Program. We are currently looking for a Supervisor, Supply to deploy to McMurdo Antarctic research station on a contract basis from approximately October 2008 to February 2009. We are looking for Primary and Alternate employees to fill all contract positions. The Primary is first in line for the position. The Alternate is next in line to deploy should the Primary be unable to meet deployment requirements. Responsibilities: Responsible for the overall management of RPSC controlled material inventories, including hazardous materials, expendables, consumables, and non-capital inventories. Follows all established control and accounting procedures; uniformly applies procedures to all RPSC departmental inventories; conducts periodic checks of all inventories; employs automated inventory and purchasing software to manage purchase requisitions and inventory levels; trains personnel as necessary; regularly reviews interior/exterior storage and control procedures, and introduces improvements as appropriate. Is responsible for the Supervision all RPSC McMurdo warehouse operations during the Austral Winter. Is responsible for the Supervision of 15 - 30 personnel during the Austral winter at 8 different primary locations. Qualifications: REQUIRED SKILLS: BA/BS required. Relevant experience accepted in lieu of a degree. Valid Driver’s License is required. Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in material control including either warehousing, purchasing, and/or inventory management is required. Experience with automated data processing systems as applied to inventory management, including bar coding is required. DESIRED SKILLS: A BA/BS with a concentration in Materials Management is preferred. Familiarity with government supply systems and inventory accounting requirements is strongly preferred. Experience in remote site or polar logistics is preferred. SPECIAL CONDITIONS: RPSC supervisor training is required prior to or upon arrival in Antarctica. Additional Polar Information: All contract positions include competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package. For the time you are in Antarctica compensation also includes travel to and from the ice, room & board, and you are eligible for a performance-based bonus upon successful completion of your contract.
