Surface/Form Measurement Instrument Sales
Job Purpose:
To meet the needs of the customer by supplying them with accurate technical data to allow them to purchase the company's productsRequirements:* Bachelors or advanced degree in Engineering, Physics, or other related field* Thorough understanding of manufacturing plant procedures, QC, and value added sales. * Minimum of 5 years of sales experience in science related products and at least 3 years selling capital instrumentation (>$50K)* Must have specific major account knowledge within the territory in at least one of the following manufacturing industries: semiconductor, hydraulics, automotive tier II/III, aerospace, fuel injectors, heavy machinery/equipment, biomechanical/orthopaedic replacement joints* Territory to cover Midwest US (IL, WI, MO, IA, MN, KS, NE, KE, and TN) based in Chicago, Madison WI, or St. Louis. Must be able to travel to cover territory effectively.
Duties:
* Sells the company's products through active representation to customers on site at their manufacturing facilities* Establishes new accounts by identifying potential customers and services existing accounts; planning and organizing sales call schedule.
* Determines improvements by analyzing cost-benefit ratios of equipment, supplies, or service applications in customer environment; engineering or proposing changes in equipment, processes, or use of materials or services.
* Gains customer acceptance by explaining or demonstrating cost reductions and operations improvements.
* Prepares sales reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing sales information and application trends.* Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
* Contributes to sales effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; recommending options and courses of action; implementing directives.
