Job purpose



Responsible for the monitoring of Rational Portfolio Manager within the Atlanta Data Centre. Participate in the implementation of all projects related to PMO Systems. Monitor changes within the data centre to ensure continuity of service for PMO Systems. Responsible for liaison with operational resources in the Data Centre. Responsible for the monitoring and operations of all RPM interfaces. Provide second level support for Rational Portfolio Manager, including functional analysis of issues and implementation of database fixes. Responsible for the maintenance and enhancement of RPM interfaces.



Key-result areas

This position works under supervision of the Project Manager, PMO Systems. Other duties may be assigned in addition to the following:

Monitor the operation of Rational Portfolio Manager, and provide reports to stakeholders

Monitor and operate the PMO Systems interfaces, and ensure handling of error logs

Responsible for the maintenance and enhancements of RPM interfaces.

Participate and support all projects related to Rational Portfolio Manager

Provide second level support for Rational Portfolio Manager, including liaison with vendor and implementation of database corrections where required

Participate in Disaster Recovery implementation and testing (for Rational Portfolio Manager)

Monitor configuration changes in the Atlanta Data Centre to ensure operational status of Rational Portfolio Manager

Perform statistical analysis of database and systems logs to provide operational reports to the Project Manager, PMO Systems.

Participates as a member of the escalation and crisis management team(s).

Provides input to and attends service review meetings with 3rd party suppliers.

Participates in the measurement of all aspects of 3rd party supplier’s performance against SLA.

Knowledge, skills and experience required

Education and training :

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field preferred. Three to five years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience in maintaining systems. Oracle SQL certification a plus.



Knowledge and skills :

Five years experience in either Windows, Linux or Solaris operating system configuration, setup and customisation.

Three years experience using Oracle SQL.

Minimum of two years experience with Java and Web programming

Minimum of two years experience configuring and operating Apache and Tomcat

Experience with Weblogic and Websphere a plus

Experience with Rational Portfolio Manager preferred

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form.

Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers,

Ability to write memos and document procedures for circulation

Ability to provide statistical analysis of operational status
