Job Category: IT/Software Development Job Requisition Number: Q11106 Applies extensive technical expertise and monitors system LAN/WAN servers and hardware operation to ensure proper configuration and operation. Develops technical solutions to complex problems and plans, implements enhancements, and upgrades to system servers and hardware. Exercises considerable latitude and directs the installation, testing, and patching of systems servers, hardware, and maintains interoperability to ensure potential problems are identified at the earliest point possible. Advises system users of hardware and application requirements, configurations, and limitations. Recommendations impact client future IT planning. Isolates, resolves, or circumvents systems problems. Documents resolutions, updates procedures, and provides insight for Tier I and Tier II IT staff members. Initiates, coordinates, and follows up to resolution the repair of system servers and hardware issues. Provide weekly activities reports to program management and Contracting Officer s Technical Representative (COTR). Perform other support activities to address specific requirements, support projects, and new technology upgrades as they emerge. Supervise lower level IT staff members, as required. Must Have the Following: U.S. Citizen. Dell Servers, Desktops, & Laptops. Must be proficient with Veritas Net Backup, Microsoft SMS, VMware Blade technology, Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Microsoft SQL Server 2000 & 2005, Active Directory, VPN, Symantec Antivirus, Diskkeeper, Dell OpenManage, NetIQ, Websense, Nessus, and DRAC Configuration, MS Project, Remedy, Symantec Ghost Imaging, Lotus Notes. 14+ Years with HS or 10+ Years with AA or 8+ Years with BS or 6+ Years with MS or 3+ Years with PhD. Under minimum supervision, analyzes, and resolves complex LAN/WAN systems hardware, circuit, and transmission problems.
