Systems Engineer/Analyst - Requirements
Schafer Corporation has several opportunities for a Systems Engineer/Analyst at various experience levels specializing in Requirements Generation/Validation to work in its Colorado Springs location, working directly with Air Force Space Command (AFSPC) in the Space Control Mission Area.
This role supports AFSPC Space Control Action Officers (AOs) as a contractor team functional area Team lead, directorate lead, or contract functional area staff member responsible for staffing operations documentation on policy, guidance, resource management, integration, acquisition, and operations planning support providing expertise on operations in the SC mission area.
Responsibilities include:
* Assisting AFSPC Plans & Requirements AOs in generating system-level requirements supporting acquisition of operational capabilities.
* Providing functional area support to IPP, JCIDS, and RRP.
* Supporting FAA, FNA, FSA, and IIA activities.
* Reviewing and coordinating changes to SC requirements priorities, operational priorities, and needs priority lists.
* Reporting changes, trends, and implications regarding design and integration of evolving systems.
* Solving complex requirements problems.
* Generating system-level requirements derived from operational needs.
* Developing/coordinaing all required JCIDS and supporting documentation for approval.
* Ensuring DoDAF products are delivered and incorporated into JCIDS documentation.
* Initiating requests for information on intelligence products to support acquisition/ employment of system/capability.
* Assisting in establishing IOC/FOC criteria.
* Coordinating DOTMLPF requirements and subsequent DRs. * Conducting initial and updating AoAs to support Phase A and B technical decisions.
* Developing, coordinating, and presenting analysis results.
* Developing issue papers identifying advocacy or alternative solutions, as required.
* Supporting CSMAT analysis and monitors SPO activities. * Ensuring AFSPC requirements and objectives are reflected.
* Monitoring acquisition progress and funding status.
* Supporting test parameters and criteria determination. * Supporting test execution.
* Facilitating program transition to A3 upon OA, IOC, and FOC declaration.
* Reviewing and coordinating system operations, maintenance, C4I, logistics requirements, procedures and technical manuals.
* Reviewing and coordinating developmental and operational test plans.
* Supporting quick-turn staffing and expedited process execution to AFSPC response to theater commanders.
* Attending and providing expertise to concept calls, concept selection panels, High Performance Teams, and AFSPC corporate process decision meetings.
* Developing and coordinating CCD to support funding and to identify system/capability requirements.
* Monitoring/directing acquisition and supporting required level of pre-employment test.
* Collecting and analyzing performance data and lessons learned.
Additional administrative duties required:
* Support staffing packages, taskers, memo coordination, point papers, briefings, charts, and spreadsheets.
* Attend and support meetings.
* Travel may be required.
The following knowledge skills and attributes are required:
* A Highschool Degree, Bachelors Degree, or Advanced Degree in a relevant technical discipline.
* A minimum of 3 years relevant Staff Experience (Air Staff, STRATCOM, 14th Air Force, Intelligence Community, National Reconnaissance Office, DARPA, or Other Directly Relevant Staff Organization), and a working knowledge of the Space Control mission areas.
*TS/SCI Eligibility, required.
