Systems Engineer - Focal Plane Array Astronomy & Civil Space

Primary Responsibilities:


Responsible for system level integration of high performance visible and infrared focal plane array systems for Astronomy & Civil Space applicationsProvide technical leadership to project teams that include staff from many departments in Teledyne Imaging Sensors Provide system level engineering analysis, be responsible for requirements flowdown, undertake cost/benefit trade-offs, and work with lead engineers in technical disciplines to optimize system architecture, so as to fabricate, test, and deliver products that fully meet all customer requirements Responsible for leading design reviews and technical interaction with customers Will work with the other systems engineers to develop and implement a rigorous systems engineering process and will work with engineering leads and program management to implement a better engineering process within Teledyne Imaging Sensors Will work with business development staff on proposals and program capture activities Expected to provide technical ideas for new products and technologies.

 

Skills/Experience:
Must have intimate knowledge of at least one of the folllowing technical disciplines: CMOS design, electronics, detector materials, mechanics, packaging, cryogenics, optics, firmware, software, sensor test. The ideal candidate will have experience with a large number of these technical disciplines Experience with a rigorous design process and technical design reviews is required Security clearance is preferred Excellent oral and written communication skills, with good presentation skills Excellent organizational skills Project management experience and experience in MS Project desired Understanding of program management issues Proven leadership skills Strong sense of team spirit

 

Education:BS in EE, Physics, or other engineering discipline MS or PhD preferred
