The Systems Validation, Test and Analysis Directorate (SVTAD) is the central focus for integration, test and validation activities within IDS. More than 1000 employees of SVTAD provide the expertise to ensure customer success through the development and execution of innovative and comprehensive test, verification, and validation strategies, processes, tools and techniques. SVTAD employees are involved in all aspects of test including: design-for-test, integration, subsystem and component level testing through sell-off of IDS’ most sophisticated systems and technologies. Job description This position is for an analyst to analyze results of GMD radar simulations and determine to what degree test objectives have been met. Specific duties will include: a. Develop and use software tools as needed to retrieve pertinent data from storage media and format it for efficient analysis. b. Summarize performance of the simulated radar, compare observed performance to expected performance, determine causes of anomalies and recommend troubleshooting actions to resolve anomalies. c. Prepare reports and briefings as needed. d. Be able to run one or more radar simulations and support laboratory runs Basic qualifications a. BS required in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Math, Systems Engineering, or related technical discipline b. Experience in system design, development and/or analysis using analysis tools such as MatLab and Excel c. Experience in development of analyses using simulation systems d. Experience in using the UNIX operating system or equivalent e. The candidate must have prior experience providing documentation/materials in MS Office f. The candidate must be able to develop, document, and maintain processes, methods, and tools consistent with AS 9100. g. Candidate must hold a Secret or higher DoD security clearance. h. Occasional travel to stateside locations may be required. Desired qualifications a. Prior systems engineering experience in ongoing Missile Defense programs such as Ground-based Midcourse Defense, Patriot PAC-, Airborne Laser, Sea-Based Missile Defense, Defense Support Program, Space Based Infrared System, Terminal High Altitude Defense, or X-Band Radar is desired. b. Experience with simulation and analysis tools such as DOORS, C++, Python, and Perl is desired. c.
