Systems Engineer, Net-Centric Architecture 5/6 Position Description The Net Enabling Integration (NEI) organization of IDS Advanced Systems is looking for a lead systems engineer to serve as focal for the analysis and application of Customer Net-Centric Architectural guidance. Such guidance includes the Net-Ready Key Performance Parameter (NR-KPP) and its constituent elements: DoD Architectural Framework (DoDAF), Defense Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP), Key Interface Profiles (KIPs), Net-Centric Operations and Warfare Reference Model (NCOW RM), as well as the sub-elements of each of these elements. Selected candidate will work with Boeing programs and IRAD projects in understanding net-centric requirements, including NR-KPP, for proposals and architectural development. Selected candidate will also work with NR-KPP Horizontal Integration Team (HIT) and work through other Boeing organizations to increase awareness and promulgate information concerning NR-KPP. Responsibilities include supporting periodic HIT telecons and annual HIT meeting, transitioning to host leadership of these events. In support of these tasks, candidate should be able to form relationships and work with engineers from across IDS programs and functional organizations. Candidates should have understanding of software development, technical standard protocols, and architectural concepts, such as service oriented architecture (SOA). Experience in systems architecture and Systems of Systems of Systems is highly desired. Candidate should also posses good presentation skills to be able to explain net-centric and related concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Periodic travel to Boeing sites, conferences, and customer sites may be required. Ability to perform multi-disciplinary trade studies to evaluate configuration alternatives for functional and spatial integration. [ + ] Integrated Systems Basic - Advanced/expert knowledge of design, improvement, and installation of integrated systems of people, materials, equipment, and methods. Preferred -Highly advanced, expert knowledge and understanding of functional flow analysis process methodology applied to operations and maintenance evaluation and analysis. Education and/or Experience Level 5 - Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry and typically 14 to 19 years experience in an engineering classification or either a Master's degree with 12 to 17 years experience or a PhD degree with 9 to 14 years experience in an engineering classification. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Level 6 - Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry and typically 20 years experience in an engineering classification or either a Master's degree with 18 years' experience or a PhD degree with a minimum of 15 years experience in an engineering classification. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
