TMC Manufacturing Discipline Chief

The position of Manufacturing Discipline Chief for the Turbine Module Center (TMC) is a technical leadership position within the Manufacturing Engineering Discipline. Major responsibilities include:

Support and guide the implementation of Manufacturing Standard Work (MSW) for Turbine Airfoils. Identify and implement continuous improvements for advancement in MSW.

Lead Turbine Manufacturing Process Reviews (MPR) to ensure productibility through alignment of product and process.

Work with TMC Operations Technical Managers and the manufacturing engineers in holding Around the Table Reviews (ATTR's) prior to MPR's ensuring compliance with Manufacturing Standard Work.

Work with the Senior Fellow Discipline Lead for Manufacturing Engineering to monitor and develop discipline health analysis through proficiency assessment of manufacturing engineers. Support the advancement of manufacturing proficiency through curriculum development, training, and work assessment.

Provide technical leadership for in-house and supply base manufacturing activities for continuous improvement and turnback reduction. Promote and leverage the benefits for the application of process control/process certification standard work.

Minimum: Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Science

Preferred: Level C proficiency in process control/ process certification or ASQ Black Belt

Ten years experience in manufacturing activities.

Proficiency Level 4 assessment in manufacturing engineering.

Experience in mentoring engineers and in leading/ guiding cross functional teams.

Position requires strong leadership and communication skills

Position will involve supporting TMC's supply base and vendor assist manufacturing. Must be able to work in an export controlled environment.
