TRAFFIC SPECIALIST

Meggitt Aircraft Braking Systems Corporation, a manufacturer of wheels, brakes and related systems for commercial, military and general aviation, located in Akron, Ohio has an immediate requirement for a Traffic specialist.

 

Duties include but are not limited to: Will expedite shipments with all types of carriers determining air, ground and ocean routings based on size, weight, cost and delivery requirements; will provide shipping costs for packaging engineers, contract management and procurement; review tariffs and their supplements and various transportation publications to keep up to date on changes within the transportation industry; have knowledge experience with freight forwarder/broker working with exports/imports of North American Free Trade Agreement; have knowledge of how to prepare hazardous material for shipment; apply for licenses for export shipments including harmonized code and export regulations knowledge; understand less than truckload (LTL)/truckload experience; understand National Motor Freight Classifications, have knowledge of freight bills/bills of lading; handle household moves of new and current employees; handle paperwork for accidents involving employees driving on Company business; and assist in rate negotiations.

 

Requirements: Minimum of high school diploma, knowledge of simple mathematical calculations, spelling and ability to understand and follow through on written or verbal instructions; should have computer knowledge including SAP; plus minimum of two years of traffic and shipping experience. some experience in accounting methods and procedures would be beneficial.
