Systems Engineering Intern on the C3S team of the National Polar-orbiting Operational Environmental Satellite System (NPOESS). The NPOESS program is developing the next generation weather satellite system. Raytheon is developing the Command, Control, and Communications Segment (C3S), the Interface Data Processing Segment (IDPS), and the Field Terminal Segment (FTS). Responsibilities include: - Apply technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques to solve problems. - Contribute to the completion of project/program milestones under the specific guidance of his/her immediate supervisor. - Follow established SE processes and procedures. - Support the development, documentation and maintenance/management of operations concepts, requirements (system, element, segment, or subsystem level), external and internal interfaces, and other systems engineering work products/artifacts. - Work closely with other Integrated Product Team members in order to achieve program success. Required Skills: - Enrolled in a BS/BA in Related Engineering Science, Science, or Applied Math; minimum Senior in class standing at start date - Minimum Overall GPA Required: 3.0 - Positive attitude and the motivation to work in a highly dynamic environment - Demonstrated ability for good written and verbal communication through coursework or work experience - Ability to manage time and resources to meet assigned deadlines as demonstrated by successful coursework or work experience. - Experience with the Microsoft Office suite of tools (e.g. Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint) - Position Requires U.S. Citizenship Company & Benefit Information: Raytheon Company, with 2007 sales of $21.3 billion, is a technology leader specializing in defense, homeland security, and other government markets throughout the world.
