Technical Data Designer 3 Position Description Analyzes and evaluates engineering source data, vendor data, and customer data in order to design, organize, and develop technical data required to operate and maintain aircraft, missiles, weapon systems, support equipment, training equipment, and non-traditional products. Analyzes and evaluates impact of engineering changes on technical data. Evaluates source data issues to influence product designs and processes. Uses complex engineering data to create detailed outlines and create procedures for military and commercial maintenance and operations manuals. Plans, schedules and coordinates data research, development and integration activities. Assists with quality reviews and validations, conducts in-process reviews, and supports verification. Creates paper, Electronic and Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals. Works under general direction. [ + ] Authoring / Publishing Systems Complete knowledge of Boeing authoring/publishing systems (e.g., Automated Publishing System [APS] 1.5, APS 2.0, Publication Interface Program [PIP], Electronic Maintenance and Operational Data [eMOD], Service Bulletin Engineering Authoring System [SBEAS], Automated Retrofit And Kit System [ARAKS]). [ + ] Flight Crew Environment Complete knowledge of aircraft flight crew operations, flight deck design philosophy, flight deck/pilot interface, and customer requirements. Knowledge of how the customer flight crews operate aircraft during day to day operations, including typical airline/military flight operations and all normal and non-normal operating procedures and checklists. Complete knowledge of the Air Traffic Control environment and how aircraft are routed through the air traffic environment. [ + ] Flight Publications Management Intermediate knowledge of flight operations requirements for maintaining flight publications, company procedures, and related records. The ability to comprehend and communicate program related operational requirements. Education and/or Experience Bachelor's and 6 to 9 years' related work experience, a Master's degree and 4 to 7 years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Other Job related information Experience in developing tagged and coded flight manual data required. CH-47, Chinook flight manual experience considered a plus.
