Summary:

The position provides senior technical expertise to the organization, works closely with the customer to define and apply wiring installation tools and processes, and is responsible for the integrity of the data and the accomplishment of the design intent.

 

Responsibilities and Activities:Responsible for the integrity of the data and the accomplishment of the design intentConstantly assesses the technical skills / expertise that the program requires and ensures they are in place to support the aircraft developmentProvides technical direction to the wire design / installation teams and communicates prioritiesParticipates in the definition and challenges of the electrical wiring design system and program processesImplements design processes and practices to ensure compliance with quality procedures and customer requirements Ensures that the tools to manage data and training are maintained and adapted to the constant changes of processes; coordinates and prioritizes these activities Constantly challenges the processes and the tools developed to make sure that these remain current and “lean” to improve use productivityEnsures the organization is properly trained in processes and toolsAssures control accuracy of the change activity / configuration management of the program related to baseline design, derivatives and customer introductionsSupports standards and processes trough the S&P team in coordination with the division research, technology and development managerInterface externally with customer representatives, generate / manage relationships, ensure effective communication and coordinationCreate and sustain a positive team environment to motivate and inspire the best team effortParticipate in the budget definitionSupervisory responsibilities



Skills RequiredBachelors degree in Engineering required, Masters preferred; plus 10+ years experience in design engineering field in aerospace industryExperience in major commercial airplane development programs Experience in wiring installation design using concurrent engineering and digital mock-upKnowledge of CATIA V5 and other wiring system toolsKnowledge of general wiring installation rulesKnowledge of engineering concepts, practices and procedures within the aerospace industryStrong leadership, team spirit and management skillsKnowledgeable of best practices and processes for program planning/scheduling, performance assessment, and risk managementGood written and oral communication skills
