Location/s: Roslyn, VARelocation: NegotiablePerformance Profile:As a member of BearingPoints NGEN team, this individual will author transition plans (CONOPS, Strategy, and SOW) and develop associated technical documentation and materials at a program office. This individual will work with junior to senior-level clients and team members on a daily basis, supporting transition team planning, reporting and meetings. Requests may be made from transition team leads for a range of writing from weekly status reports to development of executive presentations, so flexibility is key. Occasionally, the incumbent will attend project meetings and capture technical minutes, whiteboard discussions, action items, and document discussions. The individual will develop strong relationships to the program office and provide administrative strategic and tactical-level support to the Transition Lead. Position-specific Requirements: BA/BS in Technical Writing, English, Journalism, or Computer Science, or 10 years of relevant experience. The Public Services sector supports the DOD, requiring candidates to obtain a security clearance that requires US Citizenship. 3+ years experience as a Technical Writer in a high-tech environment, with specific experience writing documentation for either network operations, IT infrastructure or engineering processes. 4+ years of experience with MS Word and PowerPoint 1+ years of experience with Excel, Visio and MS Project. 1+ years working on documentation for network operations or engineering processes and ability to translate those concepts into documents. 2+ years of experience in creating technical templates. 2 years of experience writing in the commercial sector or DOD.Position-specific desired skills: Familiarity with IT Transition. Strong ability to communicate both conceptual and procedural information Excellent written and oral communication skills. Proficiency in networking technology and a thorough understanding of technical writing and project management. Ability to take complex concepts from multiple stakeholders and turn them into easy to use documents. Ability to adopt writing style to various audiences no matter the organization (DON, CTR, GOV), role (technical, PM, Logistics) or expertise (beginner/SME). Good written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to articulate information clearly and concisely.
