Technician Assistant I, Machine Shop

For quick consideration apply hereThe incumbent will assist Manufacturing Technicians with a variety of tasks in the JSC Machine Shop, according to specific instructions, including assembly, maintenance, and cleaning, using common hand tools and measuring devices. Additional duties will be assigned on an as-needed basis, such as cutting materials or expediting parts through the various manufacturing processes. Must maintain awareness of and implement all applicable safety procedures and keep a neat and orderly work area. Perform related duties as required. This is an ESCG CBA (Union) position with Jacobs Technology. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Prefer at least a year of experience in a Manufacturing environment. Prefer a general understanding of the techniques and materials used in the fabrication and assembly of Space Flight hardware. Should be familiar with the use of common hand tools and measuring devices. Must be self-motivated and able to work with verbal and written instructions.
