Test Engineer 1-2, Electronic Stability Control (10558)

Description Perform testing (both simulation and on-vehicle) of various electronic control systems, such as Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Roll Stability Program (RSP), Automatic Traction Control (ATC), Antilock Braking Systems (ABS) and brake blending solutions for hybrid vehicles Ability to travel several days every month is required, with extended trips (up to two weeks) required under special circumstances (winter test, international travel, etc).  Heavy travel is required during the first three months of the year Must become very familiar with vehicle dynamics and instrumentation Must perform all vehicle testing in safe manner at all times Analyze and document test results from simulation and test track experiments Benchmark competitive systems Interface with Software Developers, Controls Engineers, Systems Engineers and customers to create and execute vehicle test plansRequired Skills Demonstrated problem-solving skills in a team environment Knowledge of air brake and electronic control systems for commercial vehicles Vehicle test knowledge and methodology Total Quality skills including familiarity with ISO-9001 and Six Sigma Familiarity with relevant industry organizations such as SAE and NHTSA Ability to work in a cross-functional team in a dynamic working environment including international team members Detail-oriented individual who can independently perform a wide variety of vehicle level testing and consistently deliver high quality workRequired Experience Bachelor Degree or Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Technology, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology or Systems Engineering required Experience in automotive industry or Commercial vehicle industry preferred Experience with Automotive Control Systems Hands on mechanical, electrical, automotive experience Commercial Driver License (CDL) or willingness & capability to obtain CDL within a year of employment
