Test Engineer

Location: US-WA-Bellevue/Redmond Job Category: Engineering Reference Code: 4625~511319 This is a mechanical engineering oriented test position. Responsible for determining the type of facilities, support, equipment, instrumentation, and data acquisition required for proper test and evaluation of liquid rocket engines and solid propellant devices which utilize Class 1.3 and 1.4 explosive materials. Employs standard engineering tools such as thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, structural, heat, and electrical analyses. This will be a 2nd shift position that typically works Mondays-Thursdays. Please note: The initial training period (usually 2-3 months) for this position will be done during the day shift. * Develop, design, and evaluate test methods, procedures and equipment used in testing systems and components. (25 - 50%) * Conduct rocket engine firing tests ensuring measurements and data acquisition and control systems are properly configured.(25-50%) * Task organize technician work force to accomplish on-site as well as off-site test requirements. (25%) * Assist in planning test setup requirements. (10%) * Analyze test data (10%) SECONDARY FUNCTIONS: Other duties as assigned. Requires a Bachelor's in mechanical or electrical engineering and 2 years of related technical experience. Must have experience operating and/or programming LabView data systems. Experience handling hazardous materials (especially solid propellants) preferred. Washington State Blaster's license highly desired, but not necessary. Requires U.S. Citizenship, U.S. Permanent Residency, or other status as a U.S. Person.
