Test Engineer - Commercial

Location: San Diego, CA 92186 Employment Type: Full Time, Temporary/Contract/Project Expected Duration: 7+ to 10 Years Pay Rate: 40.00 - 45.00 USD /hour Test Engineer - Commercial  Pay up to $45 hour - long term contract  Job Responsibilities: Plan and coordinate development and certification testing of gas turbine auxiliary power units or small thrust jets in a military or commercial environment. Coordinate and direct build of gas turbine test articles. Prepare test plans, procedures, and reports. Conduct tests in cooperation with mechanics, technicians, and related technical departments. Identify design weaknesses and facilitate re-design and re-test activity. Must be familiar with gas turbine theory and operation, related technical requirements and specifications, gas turbine engines and component accessories and their operation. Must have working knowledge of engine instrumentation, computer data acquisition systems, and data reduction techniques. Must be proficient in use of common PC software packages. Must communicate technical information clearly in written and verbal English.Education: BS Mechanical Engineering or equivalentExperience/Qualifications: BS degree plus 7 years engineering experience with at least 3 years experience in an engine testing discipline in a new product development environment.
