Test Engineer III

Job Summary: The Test Engineer III is responsible for developing Acceptance Test Procedures for circuit cards and embedded systems for use in production test of TTC products. The job of producing Acceptance Test Procedures involves writing the procedure documents, programming automated software GUIs in Visual Basic, designing test equipment and cables, procuring test equipment and cables and training production technicians in the use of each procedure. Test Engineers also support production testers in the resolution of daily production test issues in order to keep the production line flowing. The Test Engineer is responsible for efficiently utilizing Test Technicians to assist workflow.

 

Responsibilities:

· Experience developing programs with Visual Basic.

· Experience creating production level test procedures for embedded systems and circuit cards.

· Ability to design simple test boxes and cables for production test stations.

· Familiarity with lab test equipment (i.e. oscilliscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters).

· Ability to work with Personal Computers and software tools.

· Solid understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering principles.

· Ability to take ownership of a project with minimal supervision.

· Ability to multitask with multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

· Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and able to work in a team environment with a diverse group of development engineers, test engineers, and manufacturing technicians.

 

Qualifications:

· BA/BS in Engineering required.

· Experience programming in Visual Basic.

· Minimum of 5 years experience in the field of test engineering.

· Experience or good understanding of network technology (i.e. Ethernet, IP)

· Experience with working with a variety of interfaces, i.e. RS232/422, IEEE – 1394b, Fibre Channel, PCM.

· Experience working with Fiber Optics.
