Test Engineering Manager
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: #6450 Responsible for the overall development, staffing and execution of major DoD acquisition Test & Evaluation programs including time keeping, scheduling, and budgeting. Responsible for maintaining a group standard of high quality and timely completion of tasks. Develops staff by providing challenging assignments, technical and programmatic guidance and provide training opportunities so they remain up to date in their technical areas. Executes technical programs assigned in a cost effective, competent manner by allocating testing of components and systems. Plans and develops new activities by utilizing the engineering and technical capabilities and results of the program to provide novel solutions to customer problems or create new program areas of potential business interest to the company. Promotes engineering advancement by experience and technical insight. Provides input to the director in regards to the annual budget. Participates as part of management in establishing long-range goals and objectives. Communicates program results to the customer clients. Ensures that the group interacts effectively with other similar groups and their leader to ensure that overall organizational objectives are accomplished. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s, Master’s and/or PhD degree(s) in related technical field. May substitute equivalent experience in the field. Typical minimum experience is ten years with a Bachelor’s, eight years with a Masters’ or five years with a PhD.DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledgeable and experienced in the DoD Acquisition and Test & Evaluation processes. Knowledgeable and experienced working in an IPT and Systems Engineering driven environment. Knowledgeable and experienced in technology and product development testing, requirements and specification verification testing, or manufacturing and reliability testing. Experience working in a shipyard and/or aerospace environment. Proficient in the use of EVMS for cost & schedule reporting and control. Experience conducting T&E activities/projects for DoD acquisition programs under DoD T&E processes & procedures. Experience in the use of common and specialized test equipment, sensors & instrumentation, data acquisition systems and automated test equipment. Experience with equipment qualification standards, e.g. Mil-Std-167, Mil-Std-810, Mil-Std-901, Mil-Std-461, Mil-Std-1474 or similar.
