UAV Operational Personnel - IRAQ

UAV Operational Personnel will support UAV mission tasks in Iraq. Positions included are the Air Vehicle Operator (AVO), Air Technician (AT) and Mission Commanders.


The AVO position will be responsible for UAV mission operation and will include the use of Radio Control procedure skills or skills related to full scale airplane experience. The AVO will also perform functions on UAV aircraft that will include the use of military radio communication procedures, data link theory, aerodynamics, air navigation, and FAA Regulations.


The AT position will maintain all aspects of the UAV fleet to ensure airworthiness. This will include, but is not limited to: repairing, replacing, or rebuilding UAV parts such as wings, fuselage, and surface controls.


The Mission Commanders will control the airspace where the UAV's will operate. This individual must have thorough knowledge of FAA regulations and air navigation theories.


Specific Responsibilities:

 

- AVO's will be responsible for the flight plan and performance of the UAV. This individual will incorporate the use of aerodynamics and air navigation to come to a successful mission conclusion.


- Specifically, an AT must be able to examine engines for defects, such as cracked cylinders, oil leaks, etc... Being able to listen to an engine and decipher the malfunction is of great importance. Experience in aircraft avionics is important because the AT must understand the relationship between electronics and an internal combustion engine.


-Mission commanders are responsible for the space the UAV's will fly in, and this individual will use their experience in military or professional civilian flying for all tasks.



 

- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Candidates must have prior military deployment experience.
- All position are for 6 month to 1 year deployments in Iraq.
- Must be able to obtain a security clearance.

 

- Leadership experience and Airspace knowledge is a plus.
- Intel experience is a plus.
- Prior EP or IP, payload operator requirements, prior PO or EP (not a hard requirement).
