II UNIX Systems Administrator on the JRDC program at Schriever AFB, CO. System Administrator (UNIX) to support installation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting and support of hardware, software, and associated tools in a multi-user environment utilizing Sun Microsystems, Silicon Graphics, and NT workstations and servers. Will resolve hardware/software conflicts, install and configure UNIX based systems and associated peripherals. Requires extensive experience with Solaris, IRIX, and Linux operating systems. Responsible for the installation, upgrade and maintenance of these OS systems, as well as, user accounts and groups. Responsible for providing troubleshooting support in conjunction with peer organizations in accordance with JRDC policy and process. Will be required to coordinate efforts with other work centers, such as the Network Operations Center and Resource Management personnel, to resolve Action Requests and Change Request work orders. Primary duty hours fall within the 0700-1700, Monday - Friday time period, but must be able to work 2nd shift and weekend hours as necessary to support troubleshooting, testing, and exercise support requirements. Other duties as required; occasional travel may be required. Experience RequirementsBS/BA Degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or related technical field. Five years relevant work experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator, Computer Operations, or in other related technical fields. Essential qualifications for a successful candidate include: (1) ability to quickly adapt to new situations, (2) strong commitment to a team environment, (3) capacity to work unsupervised. Must have DoD Secret security clearance or ability to obtain one. Experience using BMC/Remedy software preferred. Willingness to learn new technologies.Experience with Microsoft Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 preferred.
