VP/DIRECTOR OF AEROSPACE

 

Our client is a very profitable, fast paced, rapidly growing, global manufacturer headquartered in the suburbs of Detroit, MI. No relocation is required to the company’s headquarters in Michigan; however, it will be necessary to live there on a temporary basis for approximately 6 months. They are using over 50 years of science to bring breakthrough technology in adhesives, noise reduction, sealants, and composite solutions to the Aerospace industry with locations in North America, Europe, China, Japan, Korea, Brazil.The Aerospace Director will function as a member of the executive team, with specific responsibility for the Aerospace business including P&L management. He/she will participate in the development and implementation of new products, goals, and strategy. This opportunity is for a dynamic leader who can initiate strategic and operational planning to achieve business goals by fostering innovation, prioritizing Aerospace initiatives, and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future Aerospace business.


Position Requirements:10+ years of management experience in the Aerospace industry.Bachelor of Science Degree and Masters Preferred.

·  Prior P&L responsibility within the Aerospace industry.

·  Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and posses knowledge of Aerospace industry costs.Ability to build high morale and obtain team and individual commitments to goals and objectives.

·  Strong leadership, project management, and project costs experience is critical. Must lead by example, be hands on, highly visible and engaged.

Responsibilities:  

·  Formulate / provide (3-5 year) strategy that aligns with customer trends and expectations.

·  Establish Aerospace department goals, objectives, and operating procedures.

·  Proactively oversee P&L for the Aerospace Business in North and South America. Develop and align budgets that support successful goals, guidelines, and objectives.Prioritize and pragmatically manage department strategies and activities locally and globally.

·  Oversee worldwide collaboration and coordination within the Aerospace business in North and South America.

·  Manage Aerospace staffing including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation, and disciplinary actions.

·  Effectively and cross-functionally lead the management team and organizational structure to achieve customer requirements and company goals. Make certain projects are on time and within budgetEnsure the appropriate level of human capital is appropriately deployed to achieve goals. Maintain a highly motivated workforce by providing timely communication, displaying an attitude of consistency and fairness and providing appropriate recognition
