Application Specialist – Greensboro, NC

 

 

Accountabilities –

 The Application Specialist effectively cooperates with laboratory development groups and production/supply chain groups both globally and in the NAFTA region to ensure that products meet customer’s requirements and can be successfully applied.This position will conduct application and supply chain tests, prepare product application related portions of label directions for use, serve as primary interface to sales force and customers.  Will also identify/evaluate new promising application technologies, assure that new products are suitable for application in the markets desired, achieve seamless transfer of product developments to market, effectively network with supply, packaging, sales forces, and provide support as needed.  Also, will assure product robustness for use of Syngenta products through rigorous and supply chain testing program, identify cost, performance and presentation opportunities to enhance demand for existing products by customers and promote their development, assure that development products support the strategic vision for the formulation function in NAFTA and Global/Regional Business interfaces.

 

 

 

Knowledge, experience & capabilities –

 BS degree in Engineering, Chemistry or related degree along with 3 years of related experience.Solid understanding of the scientific disciplines (formulation technology, application science and engineering, agronomy) and regulatory requirements to achieve successful product presentations. Knowledge of the NAFTA regional markets and an understanding of customer product applications/needs. Knowledge of biological and chemical/physical product performance criteria for products and suitable application techniques to optimize their performance. Understanding of and develops excellent contacts to applications equipment industry.Strong background in agronomy, physical sciences or chemical engineering with some interdisciplinary and cross-functional experience. Ag Crop Protection Field Sales experience highly desirable. Ability to judge feasibility and technical and economic merits of different approaches.Persistence and ability to motivate the team to meet technically challenging targets.Understanding of agricultural customer requirements. Familiarity with NAFTA procedures to draw effectively on all available resources.
