Assistant Plant Scientist – Tomatoes – Woodland, CA

 

Role Purpose –

 

Performs research and/or development in collaboration and support of plant breeding strategies to create profitable products.

 Accountabilities –

· Hybrid development and evaluation, including exercising technical discretion in the design, execution and interpretation of experiments that contribute to project strategies.

· Growing, maintaining and harvesting plants (field and greenhouse)

· Manage and maintain program data

· Develop and maintain excellent internal and external customer relationships.

 

Knowledge, experience & capabilities –

 

· 2 years related experience

· BA required

· Knowledge of plant breeding, plant biology, statistics and agriculture.

· Demonstrated knowledge of the whole plant.

· General knowledge of greenhouse and/or field practices.

· Knowledge of plant pathology.
