Summary 
Sophisticated equipment requires sophisticated electronic systems. Our client has perfected the industrial art of putting delicate, complex electronics into equipment that have to operate under the roughest imaginable conditions. Highway, agriculture, heavy construction - these industries require equipment that's not only tough, but smart. In short, they provide the brains and make sure they work no matter how bumpy the road is.
 
Our Client is seeking a Business Development Manager to plan and implement strategies for targeted markets and customers. In this position, you will:
Be responsible for researching targeted markets and identifying key prospects. Be responsible for the definition, and direct the development and distribution of marketing materials that may include a variety of media formats. Be responsible for the generation, follow-up, and nurturing of sales leads, including cold calls, introduction visits, ongoing communications and relationship building. Lead Cross Functional Proposal Teams in response to targeted customer RFQ's to develop innovative product concepts, execute competitive cost estimates, develop and utilize financial analysis tools to support competitive pricing offers, and prepare winning proposals. Lead negotiations to close sales opportunities, work with legal resources to formalize development and supply contracts, and support project and customer launch and transitions to the teams that will carry through project and product delivery. Maintain the Business Development process. Understand and communicate customer and market needs and interests to Management and other departments. At appropriate stage in sales process, introduce customer to Program Manager and ensure the foundation is laid for productive relationship between the two. With a strong technological focus, over 200 engineers give imposing engineering design capabilities. They are smart, inventive, passionate about their work, and able to effectively communicate with the customer and every department along the way as the product goes from concept to reality.

You will work on-site at their New Product Introduction Center, which is nestled in North Dakota State University's Research and Technology Park in Fargo. The technology park, which houses more than a dozen groups, is a place for university research and industry to leverage and combine their strengths in pursuit of new technologies and advanced applications.
Also a home to other high-tech companies such as Microsoft, Fargo, North Dakota, boasts a cost of living lower than the national average. Forbes magazine ranked the Fargo-Moorhead metro area fourth out of 168 small metro areas in the nation to do business and advance careers. Qualifications
Bachelor degree in Engineering, Business, Sales, Marketing, or Finance or equivalent experience required. Master of Business Administration preferred. 3+ years technical experience in the electronics industry required. 1+ years in OEM or Tier One sales and/or Program Manager experience required. Strong technical skills in electronic design and/or manufacturing. Willingness to travel 50% Sales/marketing management experience. Experience in market/sales research - gathering market data using research tools; applying statistical analysis principles/methodologies to make recommendations. Experience in project management and business planning.
