We seek out achievers, leaders and visionaries. Position location:  Cincinnati, OH  The Design Technician associate will use design tools and software applications to provide a variety of technical services that support the design and specification of Weyerhaeuser Structural Frame products.  They will produce comprehensive framing layouts for floor, roof and wall systems, as well as provide design calculations for single structural members.  In addition they will provide design consultation to dealers, builders, general contractors, building inspectors, architects and engineers, sales associates and owners in an effort to provide innovative solutions to their framing challenges. Responsibilities The successful candidate will provide consistent and high quality design and drafting services for floor, roof and wall systems; provide design assistance to dealers, builders, building inspectors, and sales associates; establish and maintain excellent working relationships with customers, sales associates and the technical team; become proficient in the use of proprietary design tools and in the use of tools to manage and track services provided.Requirements:  Certificate or Bachelors degree in structural or architectural drafting/design or equivalent education / work related experienced is required Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and other construction documents - residential or commercial construction Strong proficiency Microsoft Office, AutoCAD 14, 2000 or higher  Preferred Successful candidates will be dependable, motivated, and able to thrive in a high pressure customer-focused culture Experienced in design of Engineered Wood Products (EWP) materials and/or building construction is a plus Strong math and communication skills Capable of performing successfully in a team environment Preferred one year related work experience Weyerhaeuser is an Equal Opportunity Employer building a capable, committed, diverse workforce.
