Explanation Statement John Deere Product Engineering Center is seeking an Engineer for the Drivetrain Engineering Continuous Improvement team at the John Deere Product Engineering Center. The products supported are 7030, 8030 and 9030 transmission and axle assemblies. The person will be involved in design engineering activities in support of production, warranty reduction, cost reduction and customer satisfaction goals. In this position, you will: Design components and subsystems for transmissions and axles used in agricultural tractors. Diagnose, develop and implement solutions to design related issues. Define geometry and geometric tolerancing for components. Assist in development of testing requirements and procedures for new designs. Support manufacturing, supply management and assembly operations. Assist product support.Education Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering or equivalent experience. Required Skills and Experience Experience in design and knowledge of manufacturing of drivetrain components. Strong problem solving skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Desired Skills and Experience Pro/E experience. Electro-hydraulic controls experience. Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing knowledge.
