The Electrical Power Systems Engineer

Position will comprise of three primary components; modeling of electrical power distribution systems via the SKM software package, using the results of the modeling to generate a specific list of required changes and cost estimates for those changes, and the ability to work with contractors to follow up on improvements and changes to electrical systems.

The Electrical Power Systems Engineer/Specialist will help develop electrical standards to be used throughout ADM’s production facilities.

The Electrical Power Systems Engineer/Specialist must be willing to work safely in accordance with OSHA regulations and good electrical practices.

Electrical Power Systems Engineer/Specialist will take direction from engineering and plant management. Project management and an ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues independently will be important components of the position. The ability to communicate status updates, suggestions for improvement and future initiatives with various levels of plant personnel will be essential.

Physical Requirements
This position will require extended periods of sitting and keyboard operation. System outage windows will require occasional evening, weekend, and holiday work. Participation in on-call rotation will be required. Occasional air travel may be required. Candidates must be willing and able to spend time in plant areas (i.e. walk long distances, stand, climb stairs and ladders, and move through close spaces) working hands-on with the electrical system and equipment. Candidates must be capable of working in extreme temperatures.

Future Assignments
With continued training and experience, an Electrical Power Systems Engineer/Specialist will be able to advance into higher levels of electrical engineering or process automation.

Education
Candidates must possess a 4-year degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience.
