Based in McLean, Virginia, Alion has more than 3,100 employees at major offices and laboratories in 35 cities worldwide.We are seeking a individual contributor with a Environmental collection background to perform routine tasks according to established priorities and schedules of collecting air, water, and soil samples through out a multi-state area. Performs PM2.5 Air Monitoring and related field activities, including associated QA/QC, reporting, and maintenance activities Performs calculations and other data reduction activities Provides oral and written reports to supervisorBS degree in Life Sciences discipline, such as  Biology, Chemistry or Environmental Studies or the equivalent, plus 2 years of experience in environmental field sample collection. Basic knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software Capable of using a respirator and wearing protective (Tyvek) clothing Position requires repetitive motion with hands, lifting up to 50 pounds, carrying a BGI PQ2000 Air Monitor up a ladder to the tops of buildings, moving compressed gas cylinders, and visual determination of precise measurements Travel to New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas approximately 80% (four to six days per week, two to three weeks per month) Must have a valid drivers license No relocation or sponsorship available.
