FIELD PLANT PHYSIOLOGY DATA MANAGER

Monsanto, an Ag leader creating scientific breakthroughs around the world, seeks highly motivated FIELD PLANT PHYSIOLOGY DATA MANAGERS in several locations nationwide. Monsanto has a world class transgenic plant pipeline and has various teams within the company that are engaged in projects to speed phenotyping of transgenic plants. The physiology team is seeking a qualified candidate to join the team that collects and verifies the quality of field physiology data throughout the U.S.

In this role the candidate will be responsible for enhancing the speed and accuracy with which physiological data are collected from field grown plants. The candidate will also be responsible for ensuring that the data is stored properly and progresses to statistical analysis as quickly as possible. The candidate will oversee programming data collection applications for both Windows and Windows CE computers and play an instrumental role interfacing and transferring data to both desktop and handheld computers. Additionally, the candidate will oversee database programming and management, particularly with SQL and possess the ability to manage large data sets from multiple projects, datalogging and automated data collection.

The successful candidate will possess: B.S. or M.S. degree in a scientific discipline. Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team is essential. Excellent oral and written communication skills are a must. Ability to drive projects to completion, even in the face of ambiguity and work in a geographically split team environment. Familiarity with online application design is a plus. Experience with agronomic crops is a plus. Experience with photography and digital imaging will be viewed favorably. Seasonal demands may require extended hours. Moderate travel within the U.S. may be required.
