Discover your career path at Weyerhaeuser! Background:  This is a replacement position in the Finance organization that supports the Veneer Technology — Veneer Business at Zwolle Veneer/Panel/Lumber Mill and Emerson Veneer / Panel Mill and reports to the Southern Region Veneer Technologies Finance & Planning Manager.  The sales dollars is $107 million for the two mills.  The position involves regular interaction with the Southern Area Lead Team and the Enterprise Accounting Center in Federal Way and supervision of five mill office support specialists. Key Functions:  Provide financial support functions related to Southern Area Veneer & Plywood Manufacturing.  Responsibilities include strong support of the financial transition to the new SAP system, monitoring daily/weekly/monthly production and system feeds, submission of month end statistics and accruals, preparation of monthly management/analysis reports, capital project tracking and appropriation requests, and annual financial plans.  Supervision of support specialists which includes activities such as day-to-day coaching, hiring, PMP/IDP management, evaluating performance, skill building and conducting salary reviews.  Ensure compliance with internal controls in assigned areas with corrective follow-up actions with focus on the processes of Purchasing/Storeroom (Maximo, Pcards); Time Entry, Sales (SAP /Lumbertrack), and the Log Inventory Mgmt System (LIMS).  Develop and maintain various Excel based financial tools and user report/documentation.  Communicate progress and issues with the Region Finance & Planning Manager.Requirements:BS/BA in accounting/finance discipline.Minimum of five year’s of related experience (preferably within a manufacturing environment).Cost accounting experience.Proven effective strategic planning and analytical skills.Strong oral and written communication skills.Understanding of total quality principles and processes.General knowledge of manufacturing operations and processes.Excellent time management skills.Personal computer experience using spreadsheet, database, and word processing software, such as Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Word.Self-starter, able to handle multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment with strong customer focus.Ability to coordinate priorities between multiple operating units.Effectively works within teams to provide services and solve problems.Ability to lead and manage change. Desired/Other:Working knowledge of Weyerhaeuser policies and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Prefer successful candidate to be located between Emerson/Zwolle, and be willing to support the longer commute time that will be required.   Other travel is occasionally required. Willingness to spend the time, as needed, in the operations to develop relationships and learn the process used to manufacture veneer & plywood. Weyerhaeuser is an Equal Opportunity Employer, honoring a respectful, inclusive and diverse work culture.
