IMAGE ANALYSIS SYSTEMS DEVELOPER

We seek an experienced scientist at our facility in Research Triangle Park, NC, who will be responsible for applying innovative image based technical solutions to Monsanto's product pipeline. Technologies include reflectance and fluorescence imaging, hyperspectral imaging, computed tomography, 3-D image analysis, and pattern recognition.

The successful candidate will join a group of highly talented scientists working in the above areas to extend Monsanto's capabilities in the application of imaging technologies for remote sensing, controlled environment screening and in-field analytics. This individual will work with our team of scientists and engineers to design, develop, and deploy custom imaging solutions that include both hardware and software. Additionally, they will be responsible for developing image analysis algorithms that generate validated data capable of supporting decision-making at all stages of product discovery and development.

The successful candidate will possess a multiple years of experience developing image-based analytical tools in a related imaging field. In-depth knowledge of scientific principles and applications of imaging technologies, as well as spectral data and image processing are essential. Excellent organization and communication skills and an aptitude for interacting with customers, business and technical organizations are required. Advanced degree in Physical or Life Sciences, Biophysics, Geophysics, Analytical Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science or related fields where imaging technologies are utilized is desired. highly desired. Familiarity with 3-D image analysis, computed tomography, and pattern recognition is a plus. Some travel, less than 15%. Flexible hours, based on a five day 40 hr week.
