Manufacturing Project Engineer

Growing agricultural equipment manufacturer in Iowa is searching for a Manufacturing Project Engineer.  This medium sized company is growing and will have promotional opportunities in the future.  You would have a friendly environment with the excitement that growth can bring. Primary Description of Position: Locate, develop, recommend, and implement technologies that will support the company vision and future growth as directed by the Product and Process Development Manager.  Imperative that the manufacturing processes are reviewed and recommendations focused to increase safety, quality, and productivity.  Control the development and implementation of new technologies and oversee the delegation to appropriate areas.  Utilize common continuous improvement tools to review and recommend changes that are needed.  Support the CNC tool programming. Job Duties: Continuous Improvement: Lead small group analysis of current manufacturing processes and equipment for continuous improvement Implement 5S projects Actively pursue avenues for reducing waste Recommend cost effective engineering analysis Promote and train others in Lean manufacturing principles Champion the implementation of continuous improvement projects Audit results of completed projectsFacility: Maintain all facility layout drawings Maintains all safety facility drawings Work on capital purchase plans Shop for capital purchase items Prepare proposals for capital improvements including ROISafety: Participate in all incident reviews Review plant safety with OSHA Lead safety improvement teamsCNC Support: Review tool code to resolve issues Work with vendors as needed to keep equipment operationalProduct Engineering Support: Review product designs with other engineering staff Develop special fixtures as neededRequirements: Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering 5 years experience in metal fabrication and machining Knowledge of Continuous Improvement process and tools for implementation of CI Skills to read and interpret prints, complex mechanical drawings, and written technical information Good interpersonal and communication skills Excellent mechanical aptitude, analytical skills, diagnostic, and decision-making skills Knowledge of safety policies and practices/OSHA  MRINetwork is the largest and most successful search organization in the world.
