Belcan, Inc. is once again looking to expand our Peoria, IL Advanced Engineering Technology Division! AETD is a global provider of engineering services specializing in design engineering, engineering analysis, computer modeling and advanced manufacturing techniques.

 

We currently have and openning for a Powertrain Engineer

 

JOB DUTIES:  Responsibilities of this position include:

 

· Support the application of the New Production Introduction Process to develop the next generation power solutions for heavy equipment products.

· Work with multiple machine design groups to define power solution requirements & specifications.

· Work with component product design groups (transmissions, engines, hydraulics and electronics) to develop component specifications and systems interface definitions.

· Develop integrated systems definitions (system specifications & control system features).

· Validate power solution designs through; system simulation, & modeling; laboratory and machine testbed programs.

· Provide Team leadership – this position favors leadership over technical expertise

· Keep Management abreast of project progress, potential problems, issues and opportunities for success

· Provide daily direction and work assignments to team members.

· Conduct Team meetings – organize and efficiently run meetings that produce meaningful action items

· Help team members to develop their technical capabilities through challenging assignments and focused training

· Create the vision that guides the Team’s daily activities and decision making.  Communicate the vision to the Team and ensure that team members are aligned with the vision.

· Create and maintain a climate/culture which encourages collaboration, excitement/commitment and a sense of urgency toward reaching the vision

· Be the catalyst that creates the Team’s synergy.  Set a dynamic pace for the Team’s operation



This position requires the following:

· A 4-year accredited technical degree with excellent analytical skills

· A minimum of eight years experience in directly applicable work

· A minimum of three years experience in a lead position

· A demonstrated history of increasingly complex assignments

· Skills in product design, product and process design, development or research of products, components or systems, and customer relations

· Excellent communications and interpersonal skills

· Full time, long term availability

· Superior organizational skills – must manage project technical, time and cost requirements while handling team and customer issues.
