Principal/Senior Process Engineer

Our client, a large Ethanol manufacturing company is searching for a Principal/Senior Process Engineer with gasification for the Denver, CO location.   Do you want to be part of a ground breaking opportunity?  Rising oil costs and the 2005 Energy Bill has created a rising demand for ethanol production, expected to double from last years production levels.  This ethanol manufacturer is one of the largest producer in the U.S.  This company’s vision is to be recognized as a leader in the American and European market in the production and commercialization of ethanol as a renewable resource. Responsibilities: Support the process engineering development of a major portion of the commercial biomass to fuels and products process.  This will involve supporting the development of mass and energy balances and equipment specification.  Perform detailed material, energy (Aspen Plus) and cost analyses of various process options in support of R&D, vendor tests and final process design.  Support the selection of unit operations through analyses and working with the R&D group and other process support experts.  Help in evaluate suitable vendors for specific process needs.  Monitor vendor test and validate data collected and vendor cost estimates obtained.  Assist in developing (with the assistance of senior and lead engineers and specialists where appropriate, e.g., costing, controls, etc.) PFD, P&ID, equipment and instrumentation specifications for the assigned process area.  Assist with the preparing for reviews (safety, HAZOP, economics, etc.) with internal experts and management and outside advisors and consultants as appropriate and necessary.  Responsible for the complete documentation of all aspects of work performed, e.g., model development, equipment design, details of the alternatives investigated, all experimental data and the interpretation thereof and for maintaining all drawing and calculations in an accessible and secure manner. Qualifications: Gasification, hydrocarbon or synthesis experience 7+ years of chemical experience.  BS Chemical Engineering.
