Pilgrim’s Pride is seeking a Processing Superintendent for our Nacogdoches, TX facility. This position directs the production/processing supervisors in Processing Fresh Plant on the night shift or across several departments on a single shift to assure cost-effective, on-time manufacture of quality products. Duties include scheduling, supervision, and evaluation of work as a Supervisor or Assistant Manager. Recommends personnel actions such as hiring, terminations, and/or disciplinary actions.
Basic Responsibilities:
• Directs processing operations and personnel to meet established processing and quality control standards, to control budget and costs, and to provide data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products produced.
• Establishes short-term activities directed toward processing continuity and balance such as shift schedules, ensuring requisition of materials, machine loading, grievance resolution, and equipment maintenance.
• Coordinates and integrates with other plant function areas to ensure support in attaining output, productivity, and quality.
• Selects, organizes, trains, and motivates processing labor force to ensure consistent attainment of processing schedules at optimum productivity and cost levels.
• Recommends improvements in processing flow or methods.
• Ensures effective use of operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and to improve product quality.
• Recommends modification of machines and equipment in order to improve processing and quality of products.
- Minimal, if any, travel is required.
- Incumbent is required to be on-call 25% - 49% of the time.
- Frequent exposure to extreme levels of unfavorable temperature, air and noise conditions, chemical gases and substances, and/or contagious diseases.
Basic Qualifications:
- 2 years supervisory experience in the poultry/food industry required.
- Ability to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and labor agreement.
- Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external partners.
Educational Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED; College Degree in related field preferred.
