SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Equiflor Corporation, Home of RIO ROSES, a wholesale distributor of fresh cut flowers located in Doral, Florida seeks a talented Senior Accountant to join it's team. This individual should have strong experience including general ledger and financial preparation. Working knowledge of Excel required and Great Plains experience preferred.

Duties include:Assists in month-end closing cycle.Preparation of financial statements (balance sheet, income statement and cash flow).Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to GL accounts and document business transactions.Development and posting of journal entries.Analyze, interpret, summarize, and present financial issues.Review and monitor monthly accruals and deferrals.Account and bank reconciliation.Analyze and review general ledger accounts.Investigates and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.Preparation of management reporting on operational performance.Documents and coordinates implementation of accounting systems and accounting control procedures.Prepares monthly reports required for banking relationships and participates in quarterly bank audits.Responsible for preparation of tax returns, withholding, and paying of state and federal income taxes.Assists in budgeting process making sure it is prepared timely and accurately.Collection and consolidation of budgets.Issuance of final budget.Prepares year-end statements and footnotes.Initiate wire transfers for vendors after appropriate approvals have been obtained.

 Bachelors or Masters Degree in Accounting with at least 5 years of related experience.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work with mathematical, financial, accounting and statistical concepts.Ability to solve practical problems.Proficient in Excel, Access, and accounting software. Knowledge of Great Plains, ADP Payroll, a plus.Ability to work under demanding timelines and manage multiple tasks at one time.Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
