Farmland Foods has an opportunity in thier Corporate Human Resources Department as a Senior Employment Specialist

 

Candidate will perform at a senior professional level, the incumbent is responsible for the recruitment and selection of internal and external candidates for exempt and non-exempt positions, consults with all levels of management on recruitment strategy, compensation issues and selection, provides professional support to Corporate Director in the design, development and facilitation of recruitment programs and with the administration of all corporate policies and procedures, manages employee relocation program, and assists with employee/management relations. The incumbent is considered a subject matter expert on recruitment, relocation and relations.

 

Essential Duties:

 

Supply qualified candidates to ensure that positions are filled in a timely manner, fulfill strategic planning requirements, maximize the selection process to get the best fit candidate for open positions, help managers understand legal issues and comply with affirmative action guidelines . Utilize contacts with industry sources & associations, work with outside placement services and conduct campus recruiting.  Consult with hiring manager on staffing strategy and advise best selection practices, maintain documentation of all sourcing and selection activities, conduct orientations

 

Supervision responsibilities for the mail room and the receptionist area include coordination of schedules, weekly payroll time approval and assignment of tasks as necessary.for all corporate new hires. Manage employee performance and development.

 

Manage the employee relocation program to provide quality relocation services to the new hire candidate, manage vendor relationship, consult with managers on available program compensation.

 

Provide support to the Corporate Director in the assessment and implementation of value added training programs. Manage the facilitation of training classes.

 

Assist with employee investigations to resolve complaints, ensure behavior of employees and managers are consistent with Farmland policies, maximize good employee relations and minimize potential liabilities.  Offer solutions to situations through consultation with employees and managers.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

Bachelors Degree in Human Resources or related and 3-5 years HR experience with emphasis in recruiting, and employee relations or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Knowledge of employment related laws

 

Must have excellent communication skills both written and verbal

 

  Must have excellent organizational skills

 

Must have experience with Word, Excel, Power Point and be internet proficient



 Travel is required (up to 25%)

 

 Masters Degree would be preferred
