Sr CAD Operator
ADM Design Services, Decatur, IL

Job Description:

ADM Design Services specializes in providing engineering and technical assistance to Company operations worldwide. Services provided by ADM Design Services range from analysis of existing structures to architectural and civil /structural engineering design. Design Services has experience with a variety of building and construction types including: structural steel framing; drilled piers, piling and other foundation systems; slip-form concrete construction; masonry and wood structures. Typical projects include corn and soybean processing plants, vegetable oil refineries, grain storage and handling facilities, flour and feed mills and cogeneration power plants.

The Sr. CAD Operator is an experienced draftsperson that will perform non-routine and complex drafting assignments requiring application of standard CAD drawing techniques. The Operator will work on multiple projects performing various drafting, detailing and other related duties to produce accurate drawings and plans necessary for the construction of moderate to heavy industrial buildings and special structures. They will assist Project Managers with the preparation of construction documents, the coordination of project tasks, and the development of work plans. Must complete drawing production within time budgets and production schedule deadlines. Will review shop drawings, perform changes and fieldwork as required.

Requirements:
A minimum of 8 to 10 years of CAD experience in generating structural steel and foundation drawings is required. Candidate should know fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of structural and/or mechanical systems, materials and details. Must be proficient in 2D drafting techniques and familiar with 3D drafting techniques. Must know how to read and interpret design drawings. Qualified candidate should have an Associates or technical school degree or equivalent experience. Strong verbal and written communication skills are needed. Position requires extended periods of sitting, standing, and keyboarding.
