Sr. Production Technician

The Sr. Production Technician is accountable for production of all lines of coated seed, formulation modifications on basic production, equipment modifications to correct problems with machinery, and transfer of new formulations from Research & Development into Product Development. This position is accountable for production volumes, quality of product and turnaround time as well as maintaining safety standards. The Manteca facility processes an average of 500 orders annually, 7 MM raw pounds, 12 MM coated pounds, $4M in sales. Annual amount of Polymers produced 500,000. lbs.Responsibilities include:- Input on work schedules, coating procedures and placement of employees/contract workers - Input on new formulations, procedures, machinery with respect to product development.- May supervise up to 6 temporary labor individuals- Lead technician producing all seed coatings such as Rhizo-Kote, Nutri-Kote, Tri-Kote, 131-Kote and Wildflowers - Backup to Lead Technician in polymer film production and polymer related coatings and Specialty coatings - Lead and training of contract employees in a safe and efficient manner.- Assist in equipment maintenance and modifications- Perform leadership tasks when supervisor is absent.- Warehousing of Product and Raw Materials. - Maintaining good housekeeping skills and safe environment- Production Line Certification.- Organize and calculate raw materials needed for coating process and inform individuals when materials need to be ordered.Position requirements:- Minimum of a High School diploma, some college is preferred.- Minimum of 5 years of experience in warehouse and or production field.- Minimum of 7 years experience in Seed Coating. - Seed coating and polymer processing experience- Knowledge of agricultural business as pertains to the seed coating industry.- Leadership skills. - Demonstrated math skills pertaining to formulations.- Pesticide application knowledge.- Ability to operate highly technical film coating machinery.- Ability to diagnose and repair basic machine malfunctions.- Forklift certification requires.- Ability to follow written S.O.P.’s- Knowledge to perform all necessary Quality Assurance tests on polymer related products To apply for this position go to www.bayerjobs.com and apply for job id 5646.
