Technical Sales Representative - Agriculture

 GENERAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for product line sales activities to include growth and maintenance of existing customer base to new lead generation in the assigned territory (Pennsylvania or Kentucky). Interprets and implements established Sales/Marketing Plan to meet and/or exceed divisional business goals of expanding the sales and customer base in the marketing area. Works within sales and support teams for the achievement of customer satisfaction, revenue generation and long-term account goals in accordance with Company vision and values.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Will include the following, other duties may be assigned:

 Work from Excell/Recmix’s Sarver/Ivywood, PA or Ghent, KY facility calling on existing end-user and distributor customer base promoting Company’s line of Calcium Silicate-Based Soil Conditioners.Expand customer base within assigned territory (Pennsylvania or Kentucky) as required to meet sales objectives.Attend industry trade shows and conduct technical presentations as required.Maintain relationships with county extension personnel, university professors and certified crop consultants to support sales efforts.Maintain accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities including sales calls, presentations, closed sales, and follow-up activities within the assigned territory.Submit reports to management as requested.Assist Agriculture Product Manager with special projects as requested.60% local travel (Pennsylvania/Kentucky); 10% overnight travel required.

 KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLSDemonstrated working knowledge of Green Industry market segments and product categories.Demonstrated working knowledge of agricultural best practices including fertility, soil management (including liming practices), and plant protection.Demonstrated working knowledge of technical sales techniques, time and territory administration and management of interpersonal relationships.Proven experience in managing all aspects of the Supplier-Distributor-End User relationship.Strong understanding of customer, market dynamics and their requirements.Demonstrated ability to work well in teams and independently.  Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Internet search skills.Superb written and oral communication skills which demonstrate the ability to effectively convey and explain scientific information and tactfully deal with diverse people, situations and ideas. Ability to compose concise documents and reports.Possesses a high degree of personal and professional integrity and business ethics.
