Territory Sales Manager  – Long Island, NY

 

 

Role Purpose –

 Cover a sales territory over a set geography and build solid relationships with customers in the horticulture industry.Create a professional brand image for Syngenta in the marketplace.

 

Accountabilities –

 

· Maintain and maximize sales in the assigned territory

· Analyze markets and develop/implement marketing plans

· Develop sales forecasts and sales action plans

· Increase sales of existing customer base

· Identify, recruit and develop new customers with emphasis on customers with high sales potential

· Increase sales of proprietary products

· Effectively manage product allocations

· Manage product sales to meet and exceed gross margin contribution goals

 

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience –

 

Critical Knowledge:

 

· BS in Horticulture, or other bachelors degree,  or an equivalent combination of education and progressive sales experience

· Excellent product knowledge

 

Critical Skills: 

 

The candidate must have the following competencies:

· Demonstrated sales skills

· Negotiation and strong closing skills

· Good interpersonal skills

· Excellent skills in the areas of verbal and written communications, presentations and computer skills

· Experience with customer segmentation and reviewing profitability of sales territory

· Experience with strong business and territory planning

 

Critical Experience:

 

· Three to five years related experience preferably in the horticultural industry

 

 

Critical technical, professional and personal capabilities:

 Ensure successful sales launch of Syngenta proprietary product offerings.Ability to sell a value added solution to the customer base.

 

Critical leadership capabilities:

 Drive Results as a sales rep- meeting and exceeding budget requirements in the territory.Liberate the Potential of the customer base and the sales potential in the territory.
