Vice President - Internal Audit

We are currently seeking a Vice President, Internal Audit for North Metro location. This person will provide strategic leadership for our Global Internal Audit Department. This individual is responsible for assessing the adequacy of internal controls, assuring the reliability of the company’s financial information and the integrity of underlying business systems, monitoring compliance with corporate policies and procedures, and other such duties as described below in accordance with IIA Professional Standards.

Principle Accountabilities:

Ensure that department resources and plans are fully aligned with stakeholder objectives. Specifically:
- Develop and implement I.A. risk assessment framework;
- Re-tool I.A. methodology and working practices;
- Create and maintain an on-going stakeholder communication program;
- Implement supporting technology tools;
- Implement appropriate staffing model and employee development program focused on training, development, and rotational opportunities.

Establish and execute annual audit plans designed to evaluate the quality and adequacy of company's internal accounting, financial, disclosure, and operational controls. In addition, jointly with the General Counsel, maintain monitoring and enforcement policies relating to legal compliance, ethics, conflicts of interest, and use of corporate funds.
Provide advice to management on enhancing company's overall control environment and on current risk management and control best practices.
Oversee company's SOX Section 404 Compliance Program.
Establish and maintain an effective relationship with the audit committee; meet regularly with that committee, with and without management’s presence to review audit results, management’s response to audit issues, and any disagreements with management. Establish and maintain effective relationship with the external auditor.

Qualifications

Required Education, Experience, Skills:

B.A./B.S degree is required ; a major in Accounting is preferred.
MBA is a plus.
15+ years of business/finance/operational experience with a minimum of 5 years managerial experience is required.
High integrity and highest ethical standards.
Strong business acumen and analytical skills.
Strong background in internal audit, or similar function, in a public company environment.
Extensive knowledge of financial systems and controls.
Knowledge of risk management frameworks, concepts, and tools.
Global company experience preferred.
Proficient with MS Office and Outlook
Leadership skills with collaborative style and ability to influence and get things done.
Ability to motivate, mentor, and train staff.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to prepare analytical and informational reports to senior management and the Audit Committee.
Demonstrated success in maintaining strong customer focus, good working relationships with senior management, business unit leaders and staff, and achieving high levels of customer satisfaction.
