ARCHITECT--Project Manager

SUMMARY

Plans, directs and coordinates activities of designated projects to ensure that goals or objectives of clients are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing the following duties.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

 

Follow and uphold office structure and project management responsibilities per the office RA/VSI chart.

 

Establishes project contractual agreements including Architect's fees, determines project schedules, statements of probable costs, aid in staffing individual projects, selection and management of engineering consultants.

 

Establishes work plan and staffing for each phase of project and arranges for assignment of project personnel.

 

Confers with project staff to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities and scope of authority.

 

Insures compliance with office quality standards.

 

Represents the company in a wide variety of public forums.

 

Organizes, directs, and coordinates individual project teams on multiple projects from project conception through completion of construction.

 

Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.

 

Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and modifies schedules or plans as required.  Prepares project management reports for themselves and others to verify project status; fee, schedule, profitability.

 

Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises project-related activities of 2 to 8 employees in the Staff Operations Department in accordance with the organization's policies.  Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.



EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor of Architecture Degree from an accredited school of architecture; minimum ten years practical experience working with multi-million dollar projects and project teams consisting of three to five members.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Currently (or able to become) licensed in the State of Kansas and in good standing with the Kansas State Board of Technical Professions.
