Architect / Structural Engineer (All Levels)

ARCHITECT / ENGINEER / PROJECT MANAGER / JOB CAPTAIN Hoffmann Architects, specializing in exterior rehabilitation of buildings nationwide for America’s largest corporations, universities, and government agencies, is seeking experienced Architects, Engineers, Project Managers, Project Coordinators (Job Captains), and Project Representatives (CADD Operators) to work in our New Haven Office.

Our CT office is coveniently located in Hamden CT, just a few miles from downtown Yale with easy access to both I-91 and CT-15.

Primary Responsibilities for Project Coordinator and Project Representative: Draft detailed sketches, working plans, and drawings from sketches and existing drawings. Assist in design planning and detailing by preparing studies, layouts, and preliminary work in connection with building envelope rehabilitation projects. Represent the Project Architect by observing and documenting the progress and quality of the work being done by contractors. Facilitate communication between the Owner and Contractor under the direction of the Project Architect. Assist in the administration of construction contracts to insure compliance with approved plans and specifications. Perform related duties as assigned or required to meet company goals and objectives.Primary Responsibilities for Project Architect, Project Engineer, and Project Manger: Prepare surveys that document, evaluate, and recommend solutions for building envelope defects. Estimate costs for recommended repair efforts. Prepare architectural plans and specifications for rehabilitation of existing structures. Provide third party reviews of plans and specifications. Provide contract administration services during construction to ensure compliance with plans and specifications. Supervise and/or participate in development and drafting of design details. Perform related duties as assigned or required to meet company goals and objectives.Minimum Requirements for Project Representative: Bachelor Degree in Architecture, Engineering or related field. Excellent communication and writing skills. Knowledge of AutoCAD 2000 or laterMinimum Requirements for Project Coordinator: Three(3) years experience in architectural detailing, construction administration, or construction project representation. Bachelor Degree in Architecture, Engineering or related field . Excellent communication and writing skills.Minimum Requirements for Project Architect: Professional Registration as an Architect in the United States with the ability to obtain registration in the State of Connecticut. Excellent communication and writing skills.Minimum Requirements for Project Engineer: Registration as a Professional Engineer in the United States with the ability to obtain registration in the State of Connecticut. Excellent communication and writing skills.Minimum Requirements for Project Manager: Five (5) years experience in construction administration, architectural project management, or construction project representation. Bachelor Degree in Architecture, Engineering or related field Excellent communication and writing skills.Preferred Requirements: Experience with building rehabilitation and waterproofing systems.
